Shahannah Abdoolakhan

Group Founder & CEO

Shahannah Abdoolakhan, a distinguished business leader and Non-Executive Director, is the visionary behind Abler Group. She established Abler with a mission to guide the business community through the complex and evolving landscape of local and international AML/CFT laws and standards. Recognising the increasing significance of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) factors, she has broadened Abler’s services to encompass ESG compliance, reinforcing Abler’s dedication to comprehensive regulatory compliance.

Holding an MBA from Oxford Brookes, UK, and being a Fellow of both the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and the International Compliance Association (FICA), Shahannah is a highly esteemed professional in the compliance field.

Her extensive expertise and proactive leadership have made Abler Group a trusted partner in global compliance.

Shahannah perceives compliance as a catalyst for business growth and innovation. She is committed to collaborating with clients and partners, leveraging the regulatory environment as a springboard for excellence. Her vision is to empower businesses to stay ahead in the dynamic regulatory landscapes.

Kate Rouillard

Business Development Manager

Kate’s journey is a testament to her passion for languages and compliance. With a rich background in English, French and German from the University of Cape Town, she honed her skills in Mauritius, teaching and inspiring young minds.

Her pivot to legal proofreading led her to Thomson Reuters, where she delved into data analysis. This experience ignited her interest in compliance, a field she now champions with Abler Group since October 2020.

Over the past four years, Kate has worked closely with clients, attended several industry events, grown her professional network and actively assisted on various projects. At Abler, Kate’s commitment shines as she collaborates with clients to navigate compliance complexities, ensuring they receive the effective, efficient and tailormade solutions.

Jonathan Sandean

Compliance Manager

Passionately motivated by AML/CFT and financial crime prevention, Jonathan has been managing the Compliance Team at Abler Group since December 2022. Armed with a strong knowledge of the Global Business Industry and well versed with the legal and regulatory framework, he leads the team with a fantastic blend of expertise and enthusiasm.

Together with the Compliance Team, Jonathan ensures a proper assessment of our Clients’ internal policies, procedures, controls and systems against the governing legal and regulatory obligations and internal policies.

Jonathan earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies in 2016 from the University of Mauritius and a Master of Business Administration (Global Business) in 2019 from Curtin University.
